Sábado 13 de noviembre: el Software Libre estará presente en Nicoya
La sede Chorotega de la Universidad Nacional (Campus Nicoya) estará realizando el próximo 13 de noviembre, la actividad Sábado de Software Libre. La agenda del evento incluye charlas, demostraciones, capacitación para estudiantes de informática, instalación de software libre en memorias usb y obsequio de copias de programas, libros, música y audiovisuales de libre distribución.
La actividad ha sido organizada por el Ing. Edgar Vega Briceño, coordinador de la carrera de Ingeniería en Sistemas de Información y del Centro de Tecnologías de Información del campus, en conjunto con el proyecto "Fortalecimiento de las capacidades en Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación (TIC) en PyMEs y gobiernos locales mediante el uso de software libre". El proyecto es una iniciativa del Programa de Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo, el Posgrado en Informática de la UNA y el Ministerio de Economía, Industria y Comercio. Se enfoca, en que tanto las PyMEs como los gobiernos locales obtengan la suficiente información y capacitación para tomar mejores decisiones cuando implementan tecnología. De ahí que se trabaje en que haya un mayor conocimiento sobre las soluciones que ofrece el Software Libre, en cuáles casos es ventajoso implementarlas, y cuáles medidas se deben tomar para aprovechar mejor sus potencialidades.
Los expositores y expositoras forman parte de las distintas comunidades afiliadas a la Red Costarricense de Software Libre. Se contará además con la participación de funcionarios responsables del proceso de migración a Software Libre en la Universidad de Costa Rica, quienes compartirán su experiencia y estrategia hacia el cambio.
A continuación presentamos la agenda de la actividad, la cual incluye actividades para PyMEs, estudiantes de informática y todo público.
